Meet Nellie Jo

I recently got an email from a person who is, basically, the pioneer of preemie support and awareness. Towards the end of his email, he asked me in what ways I was feeling the "tug" to be involved. You know that tug on your heart? That feeling where passion and call wondrously meet? There was no question in my response. We feel deeply that our involvement in the preemie and special needs community is in helping children like Jack in underdeveloped countries.

If you have followed us for any length of time, you will have heard me mention the wonderful organizations out there who are doing the work that speaks directly to our heart. One of those organizations is Sarah's Covenant Homes in India. Trust me, following them on Facebook is pretty much the highlight of my day. When I see the pictures on the screen, of the gorgeous children who look and act so much like Jack, my heart practically explodes. The work they are doing to help these children live (full medical care, therapy, a HOME) is incredible.

Why am I telling you about this today? Well, this year, in honor of our big boy's 5th birthday, we are doing something different. We are doing something of meaning. And we need your help.

Meet Nellie Jo.

Nellie Jo is a beautiful four year old, living at Sarah's Covenant Homes. She has quadriplegic cerebral palsy, she reminds me so much of Jack, and she desperately needs a wheelchair.

And you know what, friends? With your help, we are so going to get her that wheelchair.

In honor of Jack's 5th birthday, would you help us by donating so beautiful Nellie Jo has the gift of mobility? This would be the best gift Jack could receive.

By clicking here, you can visit the fundraising page we have set up. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to purchasing Nellie Jo her awesome wheelchair. I promise, by donating you are helping a little girl live a more abundant life! Mobility is a gift, and we want to honor Jack by giving it to Nellie Jo.

Happy Birthday, Jack. We love you so much, buddy.

Happy 5th birthday, Jack!

And here I've been complaining about the high cost of equipment and these kids just need chairs! What a huge need and how lovely of the B Family to raise money for the lucky Nellie Jo!

I know, Christi! I always have to remind myself how much access we have to healthcare and how equipment comes easily, in comparison, because we live in the US. This will be Nellie Jo's first chair EVER. We are so excited to do this for her.
