The day after the 4th we took it pretty easy. Jack kept himself entertained with all his cousins and playing with all the toys Nans had.
We also made sure to head down to the little neighborhood park. This park is one of Jack's most favorite places on earth.
The next day, we packed up and traveled to Red Lodge, Montana, for a day in the Beartooth mountains. We found a perfect little spot by the water and had ourselves a yummy lunch.
We were a little worried about how Jack would do in the woods with none of his favorites close by (iPad, movies, toys, etc). We shouldn't have worried. Boy was happily jumping all over the big blanket, and enjoying the crisp mountain air.
We spent some time skipping rocks in the water.
And of course some cuddles with Nans.
Finally! A real, toasted over the fire, s'more. Crossing items off our summer bucket list, left and right!
The stroller came in handy.
Nans had the great idea of sitting each of the grandkids on a rock for a picture in the same spot. Here is what I got of Jack.
Such a fun day in the mountains!
On the way back to Billings, we had to stop at this landmark. Very "Montana".
The whole week was so much fun for Jack and for us. I don't know the next time Jon's whole family will be together. We cherished each moment.
