Daisy Sue

We said goodbye to our sweet Daisy Sue yesterday, much too soon.

We had her for a wonderful 6 years. When Jack was born, it was a big adjustment. But she soon became his protector (always afraid of getting tangled in his oxygen tubing, though).

Daisy was a beautiful dog. Her golden hair covered every inch of our house, but she was such a beauty. So sweet and friendly, she would never hurt another and was always begging to play with other dogs. She was the perfect family dog, with about the best temperament one could hope for. She rarely barked. She loved walks and especially exploring where we live in the woods. On her last day, she got to do all her favorite things - she drank out of the hose, went for a ride in the car with the window down, breezes blowing, ate a double cheeseburger (we started the cheeseburger tradition for her birthday), and she even managed to take a walk. Dog cancer took her much too soon, but I think she had a pretty great life.

We will miss you, Daisy Sue.

So sorry, Jessi. I know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet who is a vital member of the family. Thinking of you all.

:( I was looking at one of your posts the other day and was wondering how old she was. I am sorry she had to go so soon. Dogs are a gift indeed.

*huge hugs* So very sorry for such a great loss to your family. May you find peace in all the joy she brought to y'all and Mr. Jack.

I remember when she would come visit our office and Jon would "keep" her in his office by laying a chair down sideways. I think she could have easily stepped over it, but she knew that was wrong. So she would just sit there longingly looking at the outside world. What a good spirit and very good for Jack.

I'm so sorry. It's so hard to lose a loved one, a best friend, a protector. Daisy sounds like the perfect dog, but aren't they all. I always felt like I'd NEVER get another dog. How could you replace perfection, the love of your life. Each dog was the best. I'm sure Daisy loved every day with her favorite family.

I'm so sorry for you, Jack and Jon. I'm sure Daisy is pain free in doggy heaven though. Also the story about cheeseburgers is o so cute! But the picture of baby Jack and Daisy is even cuter.
