Birthday Trip - Jack Goes Swimming

Mr. Jack had never been swimming before.

I'm serious.

There are lots of reasons for this (we live in Montana, there aren't many pool options, we'd rather do something else...). Yeah, none of of them really good.

I know.

So we had to remedy that. This was Jack's birthday trip! And our hotel had a nice pool and hot tub. So really. No excuses.

He reacted how I thought he would. Very timid. Wanted to stay close. But, he didn't hate it. He was a little overwhelmed by the newness of it, but that's just Jack. I think he would grow to love swimming if given the opportunity. I have often thought of getting Jack into aquatic therapy because it is so good for kids with tight muscles.

We shall see.

I have a few more photos to share with you, from our last day of vacation.

Our only group shot.

Jack actually let us go out to eat throughout the whole trip (yay!!) and we took full advantage. He would read books and take occasional tastes of food. This breakfast place was especially yummy.

And then Jack's last time at the incredible, all-accessible park.

Jack had such a good time on this trip. Every night he would just crash.

Until our next adventure.

Happy 4th Birthday, buddy.

We love you so much.

We have found that our 24 weeker does much better in the pool with his own little raft/floatee. He's timid when we hold him...but does better with the autonomy of the float.
