Happy Hump Day!

Jack is smack dab in the middle of his three week right arm casting - otherwise known as Constraint Induced Therapy (CIT) and he's been going to occupational therapy almost daily. We've seen some awesome progress. I didn't really know what to expect, so I guess any improvement in the use of his left hand is just wonderful!

Things he has done: Used his left hand to push buttons, push things away, turn book pages, push up into the sitting position, scratch his face, move hair out of eyes and pick nose :) Most importantly, we've noticed a much more relaxed hand and forearm.

Things not yet done: Used his left hand together with his right, used it to pick something up, or to pull himself up. We've noticed that primarily, he uses his left arm and hand in an extended, exterior motion (something common with cerebral palsy that is hard to describe... or at least I can't remember the correct vocabulary to describe it).

Overall, I am really pleased with our little experiment into CIT. I know that Jack is not very happy right now though, and that makes me sad and anxious for when we can take the cast off! I miss our smiley and giggly boy.

Happy Hump Day, Jack. Your cast will be off sooner than you know it!

Now to our March photo challenge:

Day 7: Fruit

Jack's fruit of choice is anything banana or anything strawberry. Since he is on his puree kick, we do lots of yogurt and lots of pureed fruit mixed with grains.

Day 8: Dream

I dream about the day when Jack and Daisy will be best friends. Jack is still not a big fan of Daisy... but I can just imagine them chasing each other around our backyard on a warm summer day. I can dream, can't I?
