Flashback Friday - CPAP

It was a very exciting day when Jack first tried CPAP. That's when this picture was taken. Little did we know that Jack would have to try CPAP on and off for about a month until he got the hang of breathing without a ventilator. I remember distinctly  feeling that NICU roller coaster during this on again, off again relationship.

P.S. Doesn't it look so uncomfortable?

I just found your site by mistake, but I do have a site you might be interested in. He concentrates on CP, but you will find a lot of information on noninvasive treatment that could help your son.

The second one is more technical, but has great videos.

I hope this helps. - Lyn -

Hi jessi, jon and jack,

Looking at this makes me believe one day my daughter (born at 23 weeks 2 days and currently 29 weeks) will be as big as jack. It gives me hope reading your families journey. Thank you for sharing your experience. My daughter is currently on the vent and hopefully if she tolerates all the "weanings" changes, she will be on B.CIPAP by next week and yes it is definitely a roller coaster ride when I see her heart rate drops.

Siti,

Thanks so much for commenting! We LOVE hearing from parents of other 23 weekers. There are not many of us. Your daughter is amazing and is such a miracle. Again, thanks for stopping by and reading. It means a lot.

Oh I hated that mask. James had to wear out on the si-pap and a bit on the c-pap. I called it his elephant mask because he had a trunk with it.
