Flashback Friday - Surgery Days

Surgery days were always the worst. There's the build up. You can't eat. You can't sleep. You're so nervous. Before surgery, you sign all the consent forms and hear about the worst case scenarios. You speak with all the doctors (anesthesiologist, surgeon, etc.). Then you have to do your "goodbyes"... sending your baby off, after hearing about all the worst case scenarios.... Then you wait. Waiting rooms are horrible places. You watch the clock tick SLOWLY by. You keep looking at the door, wishing the Dr. would just walk through it already with a smile on their face.

Jack's had seven surgeries so far. Each to varying degrees of difficulty, but none have been easy. These particular pictures are from when Jack had his hernia operation - probably the least serious of his operations, which is why we were able to crack some semi-pleasant smiles in these pictures.

Yes! Surgery days suck! For our hernia operations, it kept getting pushed back! it was awful! the boys were starving! even our nurses were upset. I'm really kicking myself for not taking more pics!

Surgery days never get any easier. We just had number 35 a week and a half ago and it was not much different than the first.

Wow, 7 surgeries! You guys have been through so much. Samuel's 3 surgeries were more than enough for us. I love all of the pictures. :)
