Flashback Friday - NICU Life

This was a typical evening in the NICU for us towards the end of Jack's hospital stay. We'd try to stake out a comfy chair, bring it over to the isolette, and just cuddle with our little guy. We were at the point where we could take him in and out of the isolette ourselves and pass him between us. We knew how to read the monitors and were pretty comfortable with all the beeping and alarming. As much as the NICU could be, these were peaceful times. Sure, there were surgeries and unknowns ahead, but Jack already had three months under his belt.

We loved being in the NICU at night. It was so much a part of our lives, that it felt comfortable and like our own little "cave"...

Evenings at the NICU also felt more peaceful to us. Less people, a bit quieter. We were almost in shock when we could take the babies out ourselves...it felt so good! I did not blog during our NICU stay so I have also started doing flashback fridays! So much feels like it happened yesterday!
