That whole numb feeling...

I am completely numb. This weekend was the best weekend in a long, long while. I was able to get away and it was glorious. Us girls didn't do much and that's exactly how we wanted it. I basically sat outside in a valley between beautiful mountains and enjoyed the sunshine for two days straight. I thought a lot. I dreamed a lot. I read a lot. I was silent a lot. And it was perfect.

I can't really describe everything I took away from my girls weekend. I really do feel numb. A good kind of numb. Yesterday was my birthday, and second to my birthday two years ago when Jack came home from the NICU, this really was my most favorite. I was able to wrap up time with the girls, spend the afternoon with my boys in another town, take pictures at the airport of the most amazing family who was reunited with their soldier returning from Iraq, and finally, I came home to my boy who took 10 steps right through our living room. You heard me right, TEN STEPS. Our little guy, who we were told to expect severe disability, took 10 steps.

I am numb. In a good way.

Comfortably numb? I mean, without the LSD and laser show....
