Fake Cry

Oh Jackpants. He's entered a very dramatic stage. Anything and everything produces quite the reaction. We've started to encounter the "fake cry". Maybe your kid does this. Jack squinches his face into all these hilarious poses and then lets out a couple fake whimpers. We often catch him half smiling, half grimacing, half peeking out of one eye to see if we are watching.

Here we go, step one: Make sure mommy is watching. Check.

Step two: Let out a small whimper or two. Crooked mouth, half grimace, squinched eyes. Check.

Step Three: Full on cry and full on smile/grimace that is supposed to look like he means business. Check.

Yep, that's our faker boy.

Oh my. This is hilarious. How do you not laugh?

Of course, when you hear it a thousand times a day, it gets to be a lot less funny. At least, that's been my experience.
