Last night was one of those incredibly beautiful and magical nights. During the summer we like to take a walk around our wooded neighborhood in the evening, once the heat of the day is leaving. Mid-conversation we looked down to see that Jack had fallen asleep in his stroller. Earlier in the day, he decided to be "No Nap Jack" and he was so tired he just couldn't stay awake.

We found a sliver a remaining light, peeking over the rolling mountains, and took advantage of having a sleeping baby. We each got some cuddle time as we watched the sun set behind the mountain.

Gorgeous sunlight.

Peaceful boy.

As Jack gets older the cuddling times become fewer, but in my mind, far more special. I remember what he was like as teeny baby (and I mean teeny tiny). He fit on the upper part of my chest and he could sleep there for hours. And I loved every second of it.

The sun's warmth felt glorious, coupled with the cool breeze and approaching night. I wanted it to last for hours, but we only had a few seconds left of that sun.

Kind of like how time passes and our babies grow up. We cherish the beauty while it's there and get our cuddles in while we can.
