New York: Day 4

Our last day in New York was pretty relaxed. We took our time and just soaked it all in. The city was again, beautiful and the weather was perfect. We all met at our favorite morning spot, Juniors.

We headed over to Chelsea, a neighborhood filled with rehabilitated warehouses and residential areas. We specifically went to see Chelsea Market, a foodies heaven. The market is made up of a bunch of different food purveyors and restaurants and is housed in an renovated warehouse. Many Food Network shows are also taped here.

Jon's favorite - the butcher and charcuterie shop.

There are so many cool and unique New York based shops in the Market.

Salt from around the world.

Italian market dry goods section.

Ahh Sarabeth's!

And the produce!

And every good chef needs good knives.

We really loved Chelsea Market and now have serious food envy.

Later that day, after dinner at Mesa Grill, we made out way  to Madison Square Park to get a good look at 5th Avenue and the famous Flat Iron building.

Madison Square Park was beautiful, full of spring flowers and lots of people relaxing on a Sunday evening.

We grabbed a couple after dinner snacks at an outdoor market.
Yes, the famous crack pie.

And you can't come to NYC without getting an authentic pretzel from Sigmund Pretzelshop.

Before we all called it a night, we met back up in one of our rooms to say goodbye. All of us had early morning flights out. We celebrated our last night with a cheesecake and a "happy birthday" to Jon's mom, Margaret.

Until next time, NYC.

I've so enjoyed this NYC series. Makes me miss Elizabeth. Next time you go, you'll have to meet up with her. :-)

I loved it to experience it vicariously through you...way to capture it. And yep, I would definitely get very fat if I lived there!
