Jackpants and Ronnie McD

Jack goes through about three changes of clothes each day here. He gets so much food everywhere - all over his clothes, face, and hair - that we have to change him and bath him quite often. He is having a blast playing with his food and using his high chair tray to bang his spoon on, while flinging food across the room. Good thing we are in a large space with no carpet!

Jack had another good, solid day. He is continuing to show his interest in food and open his mouth to most anything we offer him. He is eating mostly pureed foods still. He likes to be in charge though, so we go through about ten spoons per session. He really, really wishes he was coordinated enough to hold his own spoon and feed himself. So when I go in with a spoon full of food, he tries to grab it away, because he wants to control it. Most of the time the spoon just lands somewhere around the high chair, with food flying all over the place. We spend lots of time going through spoons.

Jack got to try another waffle today and he really loved it. We could tell he was having an intense battle within himself about whether he should take a bite and try to chew it. He actually took a few small and timid bites, but spit them out once they got too far back on his tongue.

Jack gets weighed again in the morning and it will be interesting to see how he is doing. Tomorrow is our last day in clinic until next Tuesday, so we will have a full three day weekend to explore Seattle and continue feeding therapy on our own. It's a little nerve wracking, but we can call our therapist at any time we feel necessary.

I snapped some pictures of Jack playing around the Ronald McDonald House while the weather was nice today.

Jack's favorite.

Lovin' it!

It was such a beautiful, blue sky day.

And now that I've sufficiently left you with the cutest picture of all time, good night! Thank you for making our first four days in Seattle that much more meaningful.

His swing pictures look like he's saying "whee!".

And I think McD's owes you some money for that free advertising...doesn't get any cuter than that.

And I want some french fries now! :)

So excited about the progress that Jack is making! We celebrate each victory with you! He is an amazing little man. Some day we will have to have him and our daughter Tirzah meet. She was born Dec. 15, 2006 at 24 weeks weighing 1 pound 3 ounces. The are miracles for sure!
