Dumpling Recipe

Last weekend I wrote about our dumpling night. I got a few request for the recipe and asked Jon to put it down on paper... here it is:


-store bought wontons
-1 pound ground pork (then chopped)
-1 tbsp minced ginger
-1 tsp red chili flake
-1/2 tsp garlic juice
-1/2 tsp onion juice (both of these juices are found in the spice aisle)
-3 to 4 chopped scallions
-4 tbsp corn starch


-mix well
-test a small patty in a skillet for taste, make adjustments as needed
-stuff wontons with pork mixture, use water to seal in filling, don't over stuff wontons
-in saute pan with vegetable oil, saute dumplings until brown on bottom
-add 1/8 cup of water and put on lid to steam until dumplings are done (might have a test one to see how long it takes)

Dipping Sauce

-1/2 cup soy sauce
-1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
-pinch red chili flake
-dash sesame oil
-pinch of sesame seeds
-chopped scallion

Oh I wish I had time to make these! Gia seems to really like dumplings. Hope Jack will too!
