Day 27

Day 27: A picture of yourself and a family member

Missoula Farmer's Market, May 2010

My parents mean the world to me. It's hard to put into words, but I'm going to try. They are so supportive. They are kind. They believe in me. They care. They love. They encourage. Both are so talented.

Values like hard work, determination, an appreciation for life, and the importance of honesty were instilled in me at a young age. They stood up for me, guided me, and allowed me to explore my skills and abilities. They taught me about the importance of an education and let me know that I could do anything I put my mind to.

My mom is: funny, social, loves a good cup of coffee, busy bee, wonderful nurse, sweet, always remembers each and every birthday, anniversary and special occasion, has had the same group of friends for decades, loyal and trustworthy.

My dad is: hardest worker I know, wise, loves a good debate, jack of all trades - can pretty much do anything he puts his mind to, cares about people, sense of humor, loves a good thrift store find, musical, gives of himself to others, loves anything chocolate, athletic, protector, and genuine.

My parents model what a relationship with Jesus should be like and for this, I am most thankful. I don't know what I would have done without this hope during our trials with Jack, not knowing if he would live or die. Jon and I were surrounded in love and prayer while living at my parents house and I can't really thank them enough.

I sure love my family. Even though I don't see my brother enough, it is still such a joy when we all get together. We have been blessed with wonderful parents.
