Day 26

Day 26: A picture of your day

playing, playing, and more playing

My day:

Begins around 7:30. Jack wakes up and we have breakfast. After breakfast on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jack has therapy (physical, occupational, and speech) at various times before noon. In between therapy is lots of play time. Our living room becomes "the toy bomb of a living room" and so does Jack's bedroom. Toys everywhere. I'm sure all moms feel this way, but I am constantly picking up toys, putting them in their place, only to do it all over again in an hour. I love it though. I love that our boy loves to play and is constantly finding his new favorite toy.

As the weather gets nicer, we will use these morning hours to meet friends at the park or run some errands. I hear it's almost going to be 60 degrees this Thursday! We will take advantage of the nice weather and get some fresh air.

Then we have lunch. Jack is winding down by now. It's almost nap time! Nap time is precious time for mommies. It's when we get stuff done. It's when we take a breather. It may be the only chance we get for a shower. It's when I have a cup of chai and read my favorite blogs. Sometimes Jack decides he doesn't want to nap. Not good.

Late afternoons, I try to squeeze in a workout and Jack joins me downstairs in his walker. It's his workout time, too. Jack uses a walker to provide the stability he needs to get around. He has his own special workout high top shoes (they light up!) and he zooms around our open basement family room (mostly chasing Daisy and tormenting her). It allows me a good hour to get on the elliptical or do some weight training.

Did I mention that our day is filled, constantly, with Elmo? Yes, Jack is in his Elmo stage. Elmo's World, Sing Yourself Silly... anything Sesame Street, really. He still likes Baby Einstein, but he LOVES Elmo.

After working out, it's dinner time and daddy time. Jack's absolute favorite time of the day is when Jon walks in the door. In fact, it's my favorite time, too.

Sounds like a familiar day! I love how intently he is looking at those photos!! Adorable. Also, the picture of him zooming around tormenting Daisy just made me laugh.
