In Lieu of Day 10

The challenge for day 10 was to "post a picture of someone you do the craziest stuff with." I haven't done anything crazy since college and my days are pretty tame. Besides, it sounded too much like an old Myspace quiz.

I'm going to skip the challenge today and proceed to Day 11 tomorrow. I thought I would leave you all with some recommendations for good reading material. These are my favorite blogs.  The ones I make sure to check regularly, that aren't on my friends and family blog list (check those out, too!). Some are thought-provoking, others are pure entertainment. Some are foodie blogs, others about motherhood. All are beautiful in their own way.

1) Dooce - Heather Armstrong's witty (and oftentimes irreverent) commentary about life, sprinkled with gorgeous photography of her cute kids and dogs. If you are easily offended, this is probably not the blog for you.

2) The Pioneer Woman - if you haven't checked out this site, you must be living under a rock. Seriously, check. it. out. On a side note, I get to see Ree Drummond live, in person, in about a month! Can't wait!

3) Kisses From Katie - I am blown away by Katie and her blog about life in Africa, being a single momma to 14 adopted daughters. Katie is only in her early 20's. She is living out her life in such a way that is so very inspiring.

4) To the Fullest - I think that most women have struggled with disordered eating at some point in their lives. This blog is so honest and a great encouragement to find a healthy balance in life.

5) Donald Miller's Blog - The author of Blue Like Jazz has a blog. It has some good, thought-provoking reads on what Christianity should, no NEEDS to look like.

6) Dig This Chick - It's awesome to see a fellow Montana chick have such a huge blog following, and rightly so. The author also has an amazing Etsy store. I'm drooling over this for Jack.

7) Enjoying the Small Things - It I ever wanted to grow my blog into something amazing, I would want it to look, feel, and sound like this blog. Please, if you do anything today, read this post. It will change your life. Pure beauty.

8) The Invisible Girls - A look at what life is like for a refugee family living in the states. Some blogs can just open your eyes to reality and this is one of them. Start at the beginning, you won't be disappointed.

9) Joy the Baker - Exactly what the title sounds like. Her name is Joy and she bakes. She is super cool. I want a cookie.

10) Washington Post Opinion Page - If you are into politics at all or care about what's going on in the world, subscribe to this feed.

Enjoy some good reading, folks! And if you have a recommendation for a blog, please leave it in the comments section. I'm always looking for new ways to be inspired and encouraged!

The deer antler hoodie is super cute :) If you don't mind me asking, what part of Montana? My husband and I are in Wyoming, and moving to Illinois next week, but we're both from the Missoula area.

Great recommendations. Dang, I need an hour every day to read the blogs I'm finding. I also like:

www.anymommyoutthere.com for some sarcastic mommy experiences

www.thesimplewife.typepad.com I started reading this after hearing about the author's major stroke at age 38...her recovery has been miraculous

www.graspingforobjectivity.com is another one with some great posts. You definitely need to read the Mom Jeans and the Talking Breast Pump
