Is it bad to watch hours (and I mean HOURS) of HGTV? You know, Home and Garden TV. It is like my background music throughout the day. I catch a glimpse here and there of what is going on, but never really catch a full episode. House Hunters, however, is a must-watch in the evenings (especially House Hunters International!).

Part of me thinks HGTV is just a cruel, cruel way of making people feel like their homes will never quite be nice, hip, or cool enough. I have always said I know what I want my home to look like, but I don't know how in the world to do anything, much less have the energy to do it. And have you heard of the amount of $ is takes to do anything, especially to kitchens?... scary!

I don't get too excited about design, per se, but I do find myself drawn to specific looks, colors, and textures. I know I like the Traditional look, mixed with a few modern pops of color. That's about it. I get more excited about fashion design and clothing, to be honest. Anyway, long story short is that I feel our home needs some sort of change. I know this has a whole lot to do with me spending so much time here now that Jack is on flu lock down. I have all this pent up energy that needs to be directed towards something crafty... but I just never get around to it. Ugh.

So is it bad to watch so much HGTV? Especially if it makes me feel inadequate? I know many people who HATE watching Martha Stewart for this very reason. Who knows... ok enough ranting and back to Color Splash(LOVE THAT SHOW!).

If I had it, I am sure I would watch it. I do agree with you that it makes you feel like your home will never be that cool. :) Maybe start with a small project and see where it takes you.

HGTV is constantly on at my office. I totally agree about House Hunters! It shouldn't make you feel inadequate, it should make you feel inspired! I find the overly expensive projects to be the least appealing. I like to keep it real ;)

I love HGTV, and believe me... if I was at home during the day, it would be on a couple hours too. :)
