Question

For those who have been pregnant - Is is normal to have horrible back pain for extended periods of time? I know the answer to this must be a resounding "YES"... but still, I wonder how bad the back pain can be? Any suggestions for relief would be greatly appreciated!

Well...I'm sure you'll get a lot of comments on this one. My experience was that I had constant pain that got worse with each pregnancy, so much so that Jack doesn't want me to have another one, we'll adopt from here on out. It was in my lower back and especially bad after getting up from laying down. I'd fall on my knees in pain. I never found a good answer for why. Sorry. I'll be curious to hear what others have to say.

Love ya,
Aana

I know NOTHING about this, and won't even pretend to give you advice. :) I heard of something called "mamalode" in Missoula. I'm not sure if it's a magazine or group or what... just thought of you! I hope you get some relief for your back, my friend.

Hey Jessi,

Boo to back pain. You know what my answer is going to be...YOGA! So, I found a couple of videos for you. Let me know what you think. Of course, I've never been pregnant, so I don't want to sound like an ass, but I think yoga teaches you awareness of your body. With all the changes you are going through, I assume your body feels different everyday, so it is a great time to explore! The more you build that awareness, you will know how to correctly align your body during your pregnancy to relieve pain.

Anyway, here is what I found:

Hey everyone! Thanks for the comments/suggestions! Bad news is that I have been sick all week... haven't had the chance (or energy) to try anything yet for the back pain. Good news is that my back pain isn't quite as bad. Still bad, but not excruciating. Pregnancy is really hard!

Anyway, I really appreciate the comments!
