What's Goin' On

Happy April 1st!

I am feeling so much better!!!! I thought the sickness would never, ever end. I have never in my life been more nauseated. I felt just plain yucky. I am 17 weeks pregnant now (wow!) and I felt extra sad when my 13 week mark came and went (first trimester) and I was still having intense morning sickness. Friends and family kept on telling me it would get better and I wasn't buying it. It was one of the hardest things I have ever been through. Unless you have had a pregnancy with intense sickness, you have no idea what I am talking about... sorry!

So, it is with GREAT happiness that I can finally say I FEEL BETTER!!! I have so much more respect for people with chronic illnesses - that deal with it day in and day out. I thank God that I was able to not work and stay home during this time. (Although that was a hard transition in itself!) The crazy thing is that I start teaching again on Monday (perfect timing!) and am excited to get back in the academic world.

My courses are Legal and Ethical Issues in HHS. I am anxious for the challenge and to motivate myself in an area that requires some extra brain work. It feels good to be making some extra $. I imagine the next few months, being tucked away in a yummy coffee shop, grading papers. LOVE IT!

I had my 4 month Dr. appointment on Monday. The Dr. says I am doing great and that everything looks perfect. It is always the best to hear that heartbeat and to be reassured that things are going normal. The next super exciting thing is our 20 week ultrasound in 3 weeks to find out the gender. Any predictions? I am saying girl and Jon is saying boy. Who knows? I will be so happy with whatever. It will just be fun to start picking out furniture/clothes/cute stuff for the baby.

Last weekend I got to go to Missoula.... finally! I had planned to go for months and had to cancel every single time because I was sick. Missoula is just the best and feels like home. Food actually sounded good and I got to eat lot of yummy stuff (El Cazadore, Mustard Seed, Good Food Store). I also got to go shopping!!! We recently decided to upgrade to a King bed and I had to pick out all the new bedding stuff (fun!) and also was able to pick up a few cute summer dresses in which I plan to live in during the summer. Sorry if you get sick of seeing me in the same clothes...

Has anyone been watching American Idol? I still can't decide if I like Adam - AMAZING vocals, but maybe a tad bit too dramatic? I am still rooting for Danny, but we'll see how things go over the next couple of weeks. :) In movie news, I am very excited to watch Marley and Me tonight and then Slumdog Millionaire this weekend. Since it is still super yucky, snowy, cold here in MT, nights are normally spent curled up on the couch.

Hopefully April weather will set in here soon.... then off to Missoula again for Easter. Yay!

Glad to hear you are feeling better! You must be if you can eat Mexican and Chinese food! I'm predicting girl...although the poor thing would be massively outnumbered by older, fatter boys in the small group. I claim the fatter boy...the rest are actually nicely proportioned. :)

So happy you are feeling better. That must have been tough...among other tough things. I am an Idol junkie, and I have decided that I LOVE Adam...and I love Danny, too. And Kris. Was glad to see Megan go tonight...and what's up with the way she was acting? Stupid.

Girl! I hear you on the nausea! My coworkers called me the "walking dead" also commenting that they'd never actually seen someone look "green". Definitely feel that pain with you and SO very glad it is lifted. Very glad all else is going well!
